Oceanside CA, August 4, 2025 – Michael Cobas, president of the OYC Youth Foundation would like to announce a gift to the Youth Foundation from the Wiedemann Family Trust. Cobas said “Their wish is to help fund the junior program for the continued enjoyment and love of sailing.”
The Wiedemann’s were active members of OYC beginning in the 1960’s and sailed extensively in all kinds of races. Take a look in the trophy case and you’ll see many with the Wiedemann name.
We also wish to thank our valued member, dedicated sailor, and Staff Commodore Les George for being the conduit of this generous gift to the junior foundation.
Because of these gifts from former and current members, along with the skilled leadership of Tim Zimmermann, the junior program has grown by leaps and bounds.
