Oceanside, CA, February 25, 2020 — Ron Dreyer, Chairman of the OYCYF, and Director of OYC Junior Program, announced this week, four more RS Tera sailboats have been delivered to the Oceanside Yacht Club (OYC) and are ready to set sail in time for the summer Junior Learn To Sail Program.
“We are thrilled to have reached our goal for the RS Terra sailboat campaign, which replaced the fleet of 35 year old sabots. This has been made possible by the generous donations from OYC members, friends, and local businesses to the OYCYF,” Dreyer said.
The RS Terra sail boat campaign was launched in 2018, with the first six boats delivered in June, 2019. “We picked the RS Tera because it is low maintenance, versatile , and virtually indestructible.” Dreyer added.
The Junior Learn to Sail Program is celebrating 20+ years at OYC this June. Instruction for youth offers three different levels from beginner through advanced. The one week programs run throughout the summer. For more information on enrolling, contact Ron Dreyer at 612-889-2390 or Evelyn Read at the OYC 760-722-5751.
The OYCYF was founded in 2017 and is a 501 (c) (3) organization. The goal is to financially support maritime activities that promote personal leadership, seamanship, and a culture that empowers youth to develop their sailing skills.
