Oceanside, CA, March, 22, 2022 — The OYCYF, in conjunction with the Oceanside Yacht Club, raised funds for a much needed 25 horsepower outboard motor and accompanying fittings for the OYC Junior Learn-To-Sail Program coach boat.
Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, OYC members and friends all stepped up to the plate to raise $6560 in time for the 2022 summer Junior Learn-To-Sail Program.
Michael Cobas, President of the OYCYF said, “ We are so grateful to our donors who stepped up to the plate so quickly!
Joey’s engine broke down three times last summer, and was out for repairs more than 20% of the season. All of this in addition to an unreliable ignition system and steering that required regular lubrication in order to avoid locking up.
The OYCYF, a nonprofit 501 (c)(3)organization, seeks to financially support youth maritime activities that promote personal leadership, seamanship and development of sailing knowledge and skills.
